Project Title: Kids Take Stage

This project consisted of the production of a play. Students were involved in all aspects including script writing, creation and design for the set, play production, choreography, etc.
By allowing students different ways to demonstrate their learning, students learnt to use their area of greatest strength and at the same time gain the confidence needed to pursue other areas of learning that they were less confident in. Ten workshops were advertised and students were provided with the opportunity to participate actively in one or more of the following artistic activities: writing of the script, adapted from the written story; creation and design of three sets; production, direction and stage management; creation, design and completion of a “magic” blanket; choreography of the dance scenes; creation, design, completion and playing of musical instruments used during the dance scenes;lighting management; media reporting of the project; photography of the project.
